Actress and star of Carrie, Chloe Grace Moretz, wanted to dress he nails in an earth tone hue to walk the red carper for the premiere of her new movie and celebrity manicurist, Christina Aviles for FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA delivered with an amazing manicure by first using the FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA CLEANSE – Nail Cleanser ($10.50) to prep the nail base by eliminating residue, FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA BASE COAT ($10.50) to ensure nail lacquer adhesion for long-lasting results, and shine, FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA The New Neutrals in Perfection ($10.50), and finally FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA TOP COAT ($10.50) completed the manicure with a super glossy finish.

“Chloe wanted an earth tone polish and this color jumped out at us right away. It’s a darker taupe that looks great on any skin tone and was just a beautiful complement to the colors in her gown. We added the studs to enhance her chic and sophisticated look.”

“We prepped her nails with FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA CLEANSE – Nail Cleanser, and then applied FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA BASE COAT. Once that was dry, we added two coats of FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA The New Neutrals in Perfection, a smoky violet shade. We finished with FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA TOP COAT, and while it was still a little tacky, we applied a round black stud at the base of the nail, pressing lightly to make sure it adhered. I’ve used other colors from FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA on Chloe before and she told me she really likes them because they dry quickly and stay on very well.”

The FORMULA X FOR SEPHORA Collection is available now at SEPHORA and SEPHORA.COM.

Sarah Hyland & Kate Mara Rock Red Carpet Manicure Nails to the Emmys

One of this year's hottest accessories is nail art. This year's Emmy Awards allowed celebrities to show off some amazing Red Carpet nail art. Leading ladies Kate Mara and Sarah Hyland wore Red Carpet Manicure, an at-home LED gel polish to tonight’s Emmy Awards and opted for “negative space” looks—having a natural or bare area of nail exposed somewhere between/within the polished area instead of a two-toned manicure. And here’s how your readers can recreate both looks.

Celebrity Manicurist Kimmie Kyees used Red Carpet Manicure’s LED gel polish "Dripping in Luxury” and “White Hot” on House of Cards’ Kate Mara. “I created 15 different looks in silver and white variations and Kate opted for a chevron look,” said Kimmie. “Kate’s dress is made of lace and toile with a pattern, so I wanted to created a negative space manicure that mirrored the design on top of her dress.”

And Celebrity Manicurist Christina Aviles, used Red Carpet Manicure’s “Haute Couture,” “Runway Red” and “Camera Shy” on Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland (see above photo). “Sarah co-designed her dress with Carolina Herrera and wanted to complement her dress with burgundy nails," said Christina. "Once we sat down together, she let me know she really wanted to do something eye catching and art deco.”
