Ciaté Launches NEW Nail Art Innovation - Cuticle Tattoos

Move over nail rings, there's a new, innovative nail decor taking your place. Brought to you by Ciaté, the leading innovators in nail care, nail colors and nail artistry, this newest nail care accessory - Cuticle Tattoos - is sure to be a huge hit with beauty lovers.

Cuticle Tattoos made a brief appearance last year but it seems the masses were not quite ready, but I believe with the Ciaté option, it's going to soar. Decorate your cuticles with Ciaté's signature pretty bow, diamonds, flowers and abstract shapes, a great way to add more flair to and/or extend your manicure. These cool finger decorations really embellish your manicure. Try the same art on all fingers or go wild and give each nail it's own decoration. I've always been a fan of Henna tattoos and have gotten a few applications with concentration on my fingers so I'm really excited that this is coming back and can't wait to rock Ciaté's Cuticle Tattoos.

BEYONCE Wears FORMULA X Nails at GRAMMY Awards

Beyonce's dress wasn't the only dramatic thing she wore at the Grammy Awards. For her Grammy manicure, Celebrity Manicurist, Lisa Logan, gravitated to shades of purple and red to create a daring manicure. Starting with a base of purple, Lisa then layered red glitter to create a deep, sexy, one of a kind shade. "The luster of the red top coat complimented her gorgeous Lorraine Schwartz rings and matching red lip.”

“We cleansed and prepped her nails with the FORMULA X THE SYSTEM to ensure long-lasting wear."

We then painted her nails with one coat of FORMULA X New Classics in Pedal To The Metal, a purple metallic pearl, and added one coat of FORMULA X Lusters in Atom + Eve, a ruby red glitter.

"We sealed the look with FORMULA X TOP COAT for added shine and longevity for her performance and rest of the evening.”

Leona Lewis Goes Black & White w/ Red Carpet Manicure at the GRAMMY Awards

At tonight's GRAMMY awards, Leona Lewis “nailed it” with a black and white Red Carpet Manicure, the first at-home LED gel manicure system.

Leona Lewis opted for darker hues, rocking a classic black and white Red Carpet Manicure look. Leona posted her nails via instagram before she hit the Staples Center.

Polished by Kimmie Kyees, the color blocked look was achieved by first painting the whole nail with two coats of “White Hot” and then with a striper brush, dividing the nail into three sections and filling in the sides with “Black Stretch Limo.”

Red Carpet Manicure Rocks Tatiana Maslany & Camila Alves' Golden Globe Nails

Best actress nominee Tatiana Maslany (TV Series Drama, Orphan Black), as well as model and designer, Camila Alves (wife of best actor nominee Matthew McConaughey) arrived wearing at the Golden Globes rocking none other than Red Carpet Manicure gel manis.

Tatiana Maslany

Celebrity manicurist, Jolene Brodeur, polished Tatiana Maslany’s nails with two coats of “Lighter Shade of Grey” followed by one coat of “Thank U Mom & Dad”, striking a balance between color-matching and complementing her nails to her gown.

Camila Alves

To add a finishing touch to her black-sequin gown, Jolene also polished Camila Alves’ nails in grey tones. For Alves, she used Red Carpet Manicure’s “The Night Is Young” and added “Dripping In Luxury” to every other nail, giving it a tonal look of color.

Red Carpet Manicure has become a staple of award show season landing on the nails of comedic actress Anna Faris at last week’s People’s Choice Awards. Gel nail lovers can pick up the same colors seen on their favorite celebrities at ULTA Beauty stores.

Game of Thrones star and presenter, Emilia Clarke, hit the red carpet in a sultry, custom nail look created with Sally Hansen Nail Polish for the Golden Globes. The sophisticated, Cabernet-colored look was created by celebrity nail artist, Lisa Postma, using Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Wine Not to complement her custom embroidered lace and black Proenza Schouler gown. Anna Faris's Red Carpet Manicure Nails at People’s Choice Awards

Last night's People's Choice Awards officially kicked off the 2014 awards season and we're keeping our eyes on the nails of our red carpet favorites like comedic actress Anna Faris, star of CBS’s “Mom”. The quirky actress accessorized her beaded Naeem Khan pantsuit with Red Carpet Manicure on her nails with a glitter look for the award show.

Celebrity Manicurist Beth Fricke, polished Anna’s fingers with two coats of Red Carpet Manicure’s LED gel polish "Makeup Time” (sheer duo glitter), followed by one coat of “Camera Shy” (soft creme baby pink). And the gel polish isn’t just for manicure anymore, as Anna opted for the traditional “Red Carpet Reddy” (vampy creme red) on her toes!

Fricke selected the glitter based “Makeup Time” to complement Anna’s shimmery pearl white look for the red carpet, while still reflecting her fun character adding a pop of red on her toes.

You can't help but have winter on the brain because of course...it IS winter. This of course makes me think of winter beauty. Now just because winter can be dreary, doesn't mean winter beauty has to be. I fell in love with this adorable five-piece Anna Sui Minnie Mouse Nail Color Collection, not just because of the super cute Minnie Mouse packaging but the colors are so "un-winter" - colorful bold, and festive. Decked out in glittery shimmering gowns these belle-of-the-ball nail colors are ready to dance and delight!

The bold colors include:

Deck Your Nails w/ SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel N' Ice Collection

It's been said that the holiday season is the time to shine but why limit your shine to then? There are plenty of times to rock a little black dress so why not enhance your LBD with nails that gleam and stand out. SinfulColors has just the nail polishes that put your nails in the spotlight for the New Year and beyond.

These Tinsel shades offer a festive flourish that's worth celebrating. Whether you go for an all-white snowfall effect, a festive burst of rainbow celebrations, or modern black and white, these shades, infused with glitter, gives nails a just-tinseled touch. Choose from six shimmery shades for all-out shine:

  • Silver Rainbows: Slivers of silver
  • Spiked Ice: Black dazzle
  • Pink Icicles: Confetti concoction
  • Cold As Ice: Winter white
  • Tinsel Town: Blue sparkle
  • Gold Tinsel: The gift of gold

The entire collection is stunning but I was especially excited to try the Cold As Ice (pictured below), which can be worn alone beautifully and of course over any color. I used the matte top coat from KO Cosmetics in the second photo.

Unlike the Cold As Ice, I'm not a fan of wearing the Spiked Ice (shown below) on its own but of course it wasn't made for that. This black is however especially wonderful over pastel and muted colors.

I do admit wanted to see what these two tinsel colors would look like layered over each other and I must say, I do like the result. It's basically a black and white version of Silver Rainbows.

The SinfulColors Holiday Tinsel N' Ice Collection retails for $1.99 exclusively at Walgreens.

Bling for the Holidays: Swarovski Crystal Pedicure

Are you ready for the latest in luxe pedicures? This season, the Lapis Spa at Fontainebleau Miami Beach will be offering pedicures that have a bit more bling than just the typical glitter nail polish. How about wowing everyone at holiday parties and new year's celebrations with a Swarovski pedicure (I'm sure a diamond pedicure will be enjoyed by the ultra rich soon).

Celebs such as Rihanna and Beyoncé has rocked this ultimate accessory, which features shimmering Swarovski crystals that add lasting glam to your toes. The pedicure takes approximately 90 minutes, includes a Lapis Spa "Spalicious Pedicure" and costs $200 for the effect on all 10 toes.

I do have a few questions:
How many crystal color choices are there?
Is there an option to do multi-colored crystals in one pedi?
How long does it last?

Hopefully I will get the answers to these soon and update you guys. Of course if anyone knows the answers to these questions, please feel free to share them in the comments section.

UPDATE: I've received more information and answers to my questions on the Swarovski pedicure from Silvia Calderon, Asst Director of Spa and Salon Services at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach:
  • Currently the Lapis Spa only has the clear Swarovski crystals but they are expecting more color choices by next week.
  • There isn't a multi-colored crystal mani, only one color is done on the entire nail
  • Per Ms. Calderon. the pedicure will last depending what shoes you wear, open toes are recommended for long lasting. (time-wise, I will assume it will last as long as a caviar pedicure)
