China Glaze has teamed up with Lionsgate Studios to release a new nail polish collection to debut in conjunction with the March 23, 2012 release of THE HUNGER GAMES. In keeping with the powerful themes and messages of the story, the collection of nail polish will be inspired exclusively by one of the book’s distinct settings - the Capitol of the nation of Panem (post nuclear war North America). "Awash in lavish fashion, food, and entertainment, Capitol citizens enjoy extreme cosmetics and body modifications, bold wigs, and outlandish costumes."
In Panem, there is the controlling Capitol city and twelve districts. The China Glaze Hunger Games Collection consists of 12 colors, not sure if this is to represent the 12 districts especially since the names of the colors are more suited to the controlling Capitol's luxurious lifestyle. The collection of colors, which are still in development, currently contains four creamy solids (Dress Me Up, Foie Gras, Hook and Line and Mahogany Magic), six shimmer shades (Fast Track, Stone Cold, Smoke and Ashes, Agro, Harvest Moon and Riveting) and two glitter shades (Electrify and Luxe and Lush) will be available at specialty beauty retailers beginning on March 1, 2012.
China Glaze is free of DBP, toluene, and added formaldehyde and are available through salons and professional beauty supply stores nationwide.
